Today in the soft skills portion of the class, We were assign to sit back to back with another person and have been told one person will explain the shape that the other person has to draw. The first round was only the speaker can say anything to the other while the drawer couldn’t ask any questions. Then in the second round the speaker was allowed to look over the drawer shoulder to help the drawer draw the shape better but the drawer still was not allowed to talk and ask questions. Then the final round was the drawer now is allowed to ask questions to the talker to help even further in drawing the shapes. In my opinion the third round was the hardest because on trying to listen to your partner because of all the other groups now also starting to talk so now there is different feedback from different groups causing interrupts and confusion.
Time Management
The 3rd week had us talking about time management, which had us at the beginning taking a time management test that was out of 75 points. The Score I got from the test was 60, and it talk a little about how I was good at setting up my time well put a little prone to distractions. Then later in the week, we were put into groups of 5 to test how well we can come up with a strategy to an test. The Group number that I was assign to was 1, and are group had the strategy to have a single person deal with gathering a suit of cards of the Clubs, Diamonds, Clubs, and Spades then deal them out in the order that the sheet told us too. In my opinion are group was pretty solid with having the right suit being divided in the right piles. The fifth person in are group was assign in straitening the cards in the row and columns. Are Group was the best with claim time for both rounds at 3:00 minutes for us to complete and we finish in the first round at 1:45 minutes then the second round we beat the time at 1:25 minutes. The exercise was fun for me because just the simply loving of pattern memorizing.
The Myers Briggs Personalty Test
The personality test results said I was an ENTJ but last semester was an INTJ. The E and I are the first portion of the test deciding if you are and Extrovert or an Introvert. Then the second part goes into if your a Sensing or an Intuition which from the results I was an Intuition. Then goes into Thinking or Feeling, which in the results of my test this was the highest difference between the traits with about more leaning towards thinking. Then the final trait being Judgement and Perceiving, which this was the second most difference between the traits being more Judgement then Perceiving. In my opinion I am and Introvert and Extrovert at different times while for the rest of the traits pretty much describe who I am. I always put logic and results before my emotions in a decision. Then for dealing with time and judgement I always set times and schedules, and hate when something messes with my plan or timing but try to add time in to my planning to have time for slip ups.
First Week of Class
This week start the first of many weeks for this course. We started with learning about Word Press in the first portion of the class with Professor Thomas Wallace . We went through the basic of what word press is and what we will be using it for. Then for the second portion of the class with Professor Cheryli Johnston we were talking about are personality test and what the that means breaking down the lettering of your personality trait was for me I was an ENTJ but was previously an INTJ from when it took the test last semester in Composition II. Then for the last portion of week of class Professor Bruce Bauer took is through what Google Docs was and all the little add-ons that came with it. Then took us through the Google Drive showing us how we can share files and edit them at the same time with a partner or multiple ones.
